This week, after collecting all of the materials, we began to build the terrain. We mainly built during breaks, although we also got some work done in class on the day it was due. We first built the wooden base. We had a couple problems with our glue at first, but we got the hang of it soon enough. We were lucky because we got our math right on the first try, so the measurements of the wood were perfect. The base was relatively easy to make. Our only problem is that our terrain doesn't fit one of the requirements. We overlooked that the ramp could not be more than 30cm long, so it's currently a bit longer than that. Even so, the base is sturdy and we're quite proud of it. The turf was harder to place on the base, because it was difficult to cut through it, but we managed to cut it to the size of the base. We stapled it on. That was the final step in making our terrain.

We also started to think of what we want our transportation method to be, and we all agreed on an interesting idea. We want to create a funicular or a cliff railway to transport the moai down the ramp. We will probably take some of the turf off of the base in order to create the rails. we haven't thought of how we want to transport the moai the rest of the way, but we have a pretty good idea of what the funicular will look like.
